21 November 2013
The Canopy, above Narina Trogon, 81 De Korte Street, Braamfontein
Three of Johannesburg, if not South Africa's, finest artists will be collaborating in an amazing show of expertise: Hermann Niebuhr, painter, Chris Letcher, musician, and Lloyd Ross, filmmaker -- these three have never worked together before, but they are each well known for their respective crafts. On 21 November, they'll offer an open show of Niebuhr's paintings, Letcher will do a live performance of a piece he has composed inspired by these paintings, and Ross will film the two and produce an entirely new work.
If you've ever heard Letcher's Spectroscope or Harmonium, caught Ross' work on Al-Jazeera or the documentary screens, or seen Niebuhr's evocative landscapes and cityscapes, you know this is an event not to miss. If you're not among the cognoscenti, join now.
